  11. Customisation falls into two categories - those items that you can
  12. change while Word Fugue is running, and those items that you must run
  13. the installation program to change.

  18. This is accomplished by running Word Fugue. If you have a floppy
  19. system, make sure that the default drive is A: by typing in
  20.

  23. And pressing Enter. If you have a hard disk system, make sure that you
  24. are in the Word Fugue directory by typing
  25.  
  26.   CD C:\WF      <enter>         if your directory was WF
  27.                                 or the appropriate name
  28.  
  29. Now you run Word Fugue by typing in at the DOS prompt
  30.  
  31.   WF
  32.  
  33. Word Fugue will load, and come up with a screen showing among other
  34. things <none> for the file name. You will see a comment <F10> for
  35. menus, <F1> for Help, <AltX> to Save & Exit on the top line. If you
  36. have changed the installed keystrokes (see below), then the key
  37. strokes you have installed will appear instead.

  46. Press Function key 10 to activate the pulldown menu system, followed
  47. by "O" (that is the letter O) for options. Each of the categories may
  48. be chosen by pressing the letter that is highlighted, or by using the
  49. arrow keys to move the highlight bar over the appropriate option and
  50. pressing Enter. Most options are covered under their own sections, but
  51. those relating to Customisation are discussed below.

  78. drive from which you loaded Word Fugue, since the options are saved in
  79. the executable file (WF.EXE).

  107. Select this menu by typing M for Margins on the Options menu. The
  108. margins available are:
  109.  
  110. Left margin - where characters you type will be indented to.
  111.  
  112. Right margin - if word wrap is active, characters typed past this will
  113. wrap onto the next line.
  114.  
  115. Top margin - the number of blank lines to allow down from the top of
  116. the paper before printing. The headings will print here.
  117.  
  118. Bottom margin - the number of blank lines to leave at the bottom of
  119. the page. The footers will print here.
  120.

  122. Page length - the number of physical lines that fit on a page. The top
  123. and bottom margin will be subtracted from this to arrive at the
  124. appropriate number of lines of text body to print per page.

  126. Spacing - indicates whether the file will print in normal spacing
  127. (1.00) or some other multiple. For example:
  128.  
  129.           Double line spacing   =       2.00{.╬}
  130.           One & half spacing    =       1.50{.╬}
  131.           8 Lines per inch      =       0.75{.╬}
  132.              (Normal is 6 lines per inch){.╬}

  161. Select this menu by typing F for Format options on the Options menu.
  162. The Format Options available are:
  163.  
  164. .ixJustification;Justification of Text (^O^J or .RR)
  165. Justify - if word wrap is active, the lines of text will be spread out
  166. between the left and right margins, so that all right hand words will
  167. line up on the right hand margin. When this option is ON, the second
  168. line of the edit screen will show justify. Word Wrap must be ON as
  169. well. Turning this On will turn Word Wrap on if not ON already. It
  170. will also turn on "Squash line on Wrap" so that any padding inserted
  171. previously will be removed.

  173. Word Wrap - This determines what happens when lines of text go beyond
  174. the right hand margin. When Word Wrap is ON, the line will be broken
  175. at a convenient place, and the additional words will be placed on the
  176. next line. When Word Wrap is active, and Continuous Reformat is not,
  177. the second line will show Wrap.
  178.  
  179. Autoindent - This determines where the cursor will go when you press
  180. Enter. If Autoindent is ON, the cursor will line up underneath the
  181. start of the line above. If it is OFF, the cursor will return to the
  182. left margin. When this option is ON, the status line will show Indent.
  183. This option is very useful for programmers.

  185. Insert Mode - When Insert mode is ON, newly type
